As you are aware we have suspended our PACT meetings until further notice.
Along with our monthly Newsletter we are going to try out an online Q&A PACT session via Facebook, which we hope will be beneficial for our communities.
The first session will be held on the “Durham City Police” Facebook page at 1-2pm Wednesday 6th May with members of the Durham City, Framwellgate and Sherburn Neighbourhood Policing Teams.
Whilst I appreciate not everyone has access to Facebook, this is just one method we are looking at to continue our community engagement.
Please share this event with your local communities.

Work will be commencing on repairs to the footpath on Moorfield on Monday 9th March 2020, this will restrict walking in that area.
Anyone out and about in Belmont this summer can’t fail to have noticed some beautiful hanging baskets around the parish. Small or large they have certainly put on a very colourful display and brightened up the whole area.
Two of our residents, Linda and Joe who live in Gilesgate have kindly allowed us to put a photograph of their stunning and much admired display of hanging baskets on the website.
Of course Ramside Hall which is in the parish is well know for its spectacular floral displays, winning one of the top prizes in last years Northumbria in Bloom competition. However smaller business premises, such as the Travellers Rest on Broomside Lane, have also had some lovely hanging baskets and tubs on show this year.
With so many lovely gardens in the parish we would like to encourage residents to consider entering the annual Beautiful Durham competition. Entries are closed for this years competition but details of the various categories can be found on the Durham County Council web page. There is even a category for Best Floral Containers which would include hanging baskets.
We will be reminding residents again about the competition in our Spring newsletter to give them plenty of time to enter next year.
Since we published an article on wood burners in the Summer Parish Newsletter we have been contacted by another resident who suggests that we further advise anyone considering having a wood burning stove fitted of the importance of using a registered, credited installer, who will inspect chimneys and flues and ensure they are correctly lined. A site survey is also highly recommended. These seem very valid safety measures for us to pass on.
